Both Eric and Julie were raised in Christian homes but did not
actively develop a true relationship with Christ until year 2000.
Their faith grew being involved in church and a passion for mission
work evolved in time. Eric had opportunities to travel to Nicaragua
and Honduras on short-term mission trips. Julie spent extensive time
reading on the physical, medical, spiritual, and economic needs of
the world. With an open mind, together they surrendered their lives
to God’s will for them and how they could be a part of His plan.
With clear discernment, a calling to Belize was undeniable and a
journey was to begin the summer of 2008. We believed wholeheartedly
that Jesus came not to be served, but to serve and that is the basis
of our mission too.
Without a doubt, Eric and Julie want to give of their time and
talent 200% to the betterment and livelihood to those in need.
Meeting human needs with the love of Christ is essential to their
goal on the field. We will love God with all our hearts, mind, and
strength by truly loving our neighbor- two of Jesus’ greatest
commandments. There has been tremendous joy being the center of
God’s will and has independently deepened our trust and faith in
Christ. “If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose
it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life
(Matt 16:25).”
We are partnered in ministry with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Atlanta Georgia, North Carolina Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and our encourager church is Oakmont Baptist Church of Greenville North Carolina.
Since July 2008, Eric & Julie have been the volunteer director’s of the Baptist Training Center (www.BelizeBTC.org) in Camalote Village in Belize. They plan to serve in Belize however long God calls them to be there. And if He calls them to “go to the land I will show you,” they will go.
In summary, we support the scriptures written in the New Testament
stating, “The most important thing is that I complete my mission,
the work that the Lord Jesus gave me (Acts 20:24).” Also, “I expect
and hope that I will not fail Christ in anything but that I will
have the courage now, as always, to show the greatness of Christ in
my life here on earth, whether I live or die (Philippians 1:20).”
